The Edinburgh Conservatives are delighted to be hosting the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Rt. Hon. Liz Truss MP, on the evening of Wednesday the 26th September at 7pm at the Bruntsfield Hotel, 69 Bruntsfield Place, Edinburgh EH10 4HH, for a dinner.
After graduating from Oxford, Mrs Truss worked in the energy and telecommunications industry. She was elected as an MP in 2010 and appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Education and Childcare in 2012, before entering the cabinet as Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, at the time of her appointment she was the youngest female cabinet member in history. In July 2016, she was appointed, by the Prime Minister, as Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice, becoming the first female Lord Chancellor in the thousand-year history of the role. Following the 2017 general election, she was appointed Chief Secretary to the Treasury.
Tickets for the evening are priced at £40 per person, or £400 for a table of 10, for a 2-course dinner including wine. Included in the price are drinks on arrival and coffee after the meal. Dress code for the dinner is lounge suit
